According to a report coming straight from Taiwan, TSMC has obtained a $700 million get from Huawei for its 5 and 7nm chips. The 5nm bit is possible about the future Kirin 1020 chipset when the 7nm order is all about the 5G baseband chips. On the other hand, TSMC is reportedly working on entire potential and will not likely be equipped to get any additional orders. And which is not the only difficulty.
On Friday, the US Commerce Office went on with the new rules, which involves production firms using US equipment and computer software to get a distinctive license to supply Huawei. Hence, TSMC had to halt all new Huawei orders. The new policy will not use toexisting orders.
Huawei declined to remark on the subject when TSMC named them “purely marketplace rumors”.
