Wonder which among these are the very best smartphones available in India right now? Our list below ranks the top smartphones available in the country across price categories. The Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus are – along with the Galaxy S20 Ultra – Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship phones, so it’s no wonder they top this list.

While the S20 Plus has a slight specs edge, thanks to a larger 6.7-inch screen, a bigger 4,500mAh battery, a fourth camera lens (for depth-sensing) and optionally more storage, they’re largely very similar phones, so they’re fit to share the top spot.

Both have a highly capable camera array, with 12MP standard, 12MP ultra-wide, and 64MP telephoto sensors, and both also have top-end power, thanks to a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset (depending on where in the world you are) and up to 12GB of RAM.

They also both have a stunning 1440 x 3200 display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. At the time of writing this is arguably the best screen you’ll find on any smartphone.

The design is premium too, and they’re both packed full of features, like reverse wireless charging, 5G, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and water resistance. They might not quite be the very best at everything, but they’re certainly the best Android phones overall.

The iPhone 11 Pro is Apple’s latest iPhone that has people asking us “What’s really changed?” It’s a fair question because it looks very similar to last year’s iPhone. But use the new cameras for a few minutes and both that question and inquisitive looks from doubters quickly fade.

Apple put a lot of effort into its triple-lens rear camera, offering a trio of 12MP lenses that shoot regular, telephoto, and brand new ultra-wide perspectives. Not having to back up to fit everything into the widened frame is a big perk. Also, all of our friends appreciate not having their heads cut off in portrait photos.

‘Night Mode’, meanwhile, addresses the single biggest complaint we’ve heard from iPhone users over the years: photos in dimly-lit bars and restaurants don’t look very good – not next to their Android phone-touting friends. The shame!

Good news: the iPhone 11 Pro has the best low-light camera we’ve tested on a phone – any phone. Apple brightens with the best of them and its night mode is automatically applied, topping Samsung, Huawei, and Google’s interfaces.

he chassis is plastic but is molded in a way that it carries a cluster resulting in a reflective 3D S-shaped pattern when viewed at a certain angle. The in-hand feel of the phone is pretty solid, and due to the slightly tapered edges, it fits comfortably in hand. Although the plastic back does attract scuff marks and scratches easily, a back cover is provided in-the-box.

The phone has a depth of around 9.4mm from the top due to the placement of the pop-up camera and decreases to 8.6mm further along. Realme X weighs around 191g.

The phone uses a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution AMOLED panel that has been sourced from Samsung. As it is fitted with a pop-up camera mechanism, over 91.2% of the body is screen, and it definitely looks gorgeous. By default, the display is calibrated a bit towards the cooler side of things but can be tweaked from the settings menu. Furthermore, the display has a coating of Gorilla Glass 5 which adds more strength to the screen.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 probably isn’t a phone you’ll hear many people talking about, but it deserves to be, as this is Xiaomi’s masterpiece.

It has a superb penta-lens camera setup, headlined by a 108MP snapper, plus an impressive AMOLED screen, speedy charging, and a curvy design that makes it comfortable to hold.

Where it falls down a little is in performance, as it’s packing a mid-range Snapdragon 730G chipset, and in battery life, as despite having a massive 5,260mAh one we found this to be fairly average. But this isn’t a phone that’s going to break the bank, so these are issues that we can forgive.

Iphone SE

Rear Camera12MP Wide camera
Front Camera7MP
Chip and CapacityA13 Bionic chip(64GB+128GB+256GB)
Battery1,821 mAh
OSiOS 13

The design of the phone is going to be familiar to anyone that’s used an iPhone recently – unless you’ve not held a handset from Apple since 2013 then you’ll have seen this 4.7-inch frame before, complete with bezels top and bottom and a home button with fingerprint scanner built in.

It’s now seen as the ‘smaller’ iPhone form factor given the all-screen designs of the more recent models, and it’s both more lightweight and pocketable than anything from the iPhone 11 range.

It’s pleasingly water resistant, but does have some drawbacks thanks to the older design: it lacks a headphone jack at the bottom, and because the display technology is slightly dated (as it comes from the iPhone 8) it can suffer in bright light when you’re trying to watch videos or the like.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is the latest and greatest OnePlus handset, and it comes very close to challenging the best Samsung phones.

Its screen can rival them in fact – with its 120Hz refresh rate and crisp resolution, the OnePlus 8 Pro has one of the best displays you’ll find on a smartphone.

It also has a top-end Snapdragon 865 chipset, more RAM than you’ll know what to do with, and most of the other flagship bells and whistles, such as water resistance and wireless charging.

Its cameras arguably can’t quite match those of the very best phones – but they come close, and the price is the highest yet for a OnePlus phone – but still lower than some top-end handsets. All in all though, this is a stunning effort.
