According to FCC filings, the recently released iPhone 12 family, like some of its Android rivals, maybe hiding its reverse wireless charging capabilities. The feature is rumored to be on the iPhone 11, but it was revealed that Apple removed it during final testing. Last year’s disassembly revealed that we didn’t have all the hardware we needed.

But this year, the iPhone 12 seems to be rocking all the hardware needed to charge accessories wirelessly. Of course, Apple didn’t mention this feature at all, and isn’t working at all right now.

Rumor has it that the best scenario is for Apple to enable AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2 when they arrive.

However, it’s likely that the feature doesn’t meet Apple’s requirements for some reason, and the problem may have occurred at the last moment. If so, you may not be able to reverse wirelessly charge your iPhone until the 2021 model is available. After all, the modest battery capacity of the iPhone 12 lineup means that charging your AirPods that way sacrifices a lot of durabilities.
