Asus ROG 5 leaked with SD888 benchmarked in HTML5 on Geekbench-Techweu

Published on:

Asus is already working on the next ROG Phone, and it looks like it could be announced much earlier than the normal June-July period. Phones with model numbers ASUS_I005DA and ASUS_I005DB popped up on the Geekbench and HTML5 benchmark platforms, displaying the Snapdragon 888 chipset (codenamed Lahaina after the island of Hawaii).

Future Asus gaming devices may be called Asus ROG 4, but for two reasons you’re more likely to skip numbers and go directly to Asus ROG 5. Please skip. Second, the model number of ROG3 was ASUS_I003DA.

The HTML5 benchmark doesn’t say anything about the specifications for this ROG Phone, but you can also see that 8GB RAM is an option in Geekbench and will be included with Android 11. Not surprising.

What’s amazing is if Asus was able to bring out a new design for the phone in such a short amount of time. Again, all three ROG phones so far are very similar in appearance. All Taiwanese companies have to do is hit a new chipset and call the next ROG “brand new.”
