Micromax has returned to the Indian smartphone market and is scheduled for launch on November 3rd. The hardware details are still a bit lacking, and even the exact model of future In-phones has not been officially confirmed. However, most rumors seem to refer to a pair of devices called Micromax In1 and In1A. One is equipped with the Mediatek Helio G35 chipset and the other is equipped with the G85 chipset. In addition to all official teasers, at least one new phone has appeared in the first-time YouTube video featuring Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma.
Sharma was particularly nimble in the details department, not confirming the name of the upcoming phone, especially the model he had. However, other sources suggest that the Micromax In1A is an introduction to the camera.
Apparently, it’s a rocking model of the high-end MediaTek G85, which looks like a quad-camera setup on the back and has a 48MP quad Bayer main snapper on the rudder. Two-color options, green and white, were exhibited. The former clearly shows a specific “X” design pattern on the back, as you can see in the teaser. This video gives you an easy glimpse of the front of the device and shows you the design of a punched selfie camera. Not too surprising, as another official teaser also suggests the placement of certain selfies.
Then, from your Micromax Twitter account, there’s yet another official image showing a total of three devices.
Going back to the previous Micromax leak and using some deductions here, it seems that there are at least two MicromaxIn variants built around the MediaTek G35. If our naming assumption holds, one of them should be Vanilla’s Micromax In 1. Beyond the chipset, the pair is said to share a 5,000 Mah battery pack and both run stock Android. The differences allegedly include both memory configurations – 2GB / 32GB on one side, 3GB / 32GB on the other, and the accompanying main camera setup. The low-end model may have an 8MP selfie shooter on the front, a 13MP primary camera on the back combined with a 2MP unit, and siblings with a total of four cameras (13MP camera and triple on the front). Rear camera settings consisting of 13MP, 5MP and 2MP modules.
A rough price range for the upcoming Micromax In lineup is also emerging, with low-end prices starting at just Rs 7,000 ($ 95/80) and rising to $ 15,000 ($ 205/175). We will keep you informed about future developments.
