TCL is preparing to launch another 5G smartphone early next year, with the first details. The new phone will simply be named TCL20 5G and will be shared by Evan Blass. It’s a midranger with a Snapdragon 690 chipset, three cameras and a big screen.
The diagonal of the front panel is 6.67 inches, which is Full HD + resolution. There is a hole in the center for an 8MP selfie camera, but the panel could be an LCD. This is a safe guess, given that the power key is said to double as a fingerprint scanner. It is located on the right side, just below the volume key. Interestingly, there’s also a key on the left for easy access to the Google Assistant.
The main camera is now oriented vertically instead of the unusual horizontal solution of the TCL 10 series. The main cam is 48MP and comes with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP macro cam. Inside, it has 6GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery.
The phone will arrive next year. TCL was probably planned to be introduced in CES2021, but the meeting was canceled due to the situation of COVID-19 in the United States. This means that the TCL 205G may be available online in early 2021.
