WhatsApp 2.20.201.6 beta for Android has a glimpse of the new feature, which will be called ‘Expiring Media’. As the name implies, this feature will make the media files sent to the users such as images, videos, and GIFs disappear after a single view. Initially, information about this feature was obtained through WhatsApp 2.20.201.1 beta. But the latest beta version has now suggested how this feature will ultimately work for users.

This pop-up message will say, “This media will disappear once you leave this chat” (this media file will disappear as soon as you leave the chat). This message will be visible to the user on the shared media file using the new feature.

Apart from this, in a screenshot shared through the source, it can also be seen that as soon as the user receiving the message leaves the chat, a bubble will appear which will say “View once photo expired”. WhatsApp will also offer a dedicated button for this feature, which will help in sending files enabling the expiring media feature, this button can be called View Once.
