If you don’t know right away, Android users don’t need to read anymore. This article is intended for iPhone owners who are upgrading to one of the new iPhone 12.
Series 12 has four new models, from the 5.4 “Mini to the 6.7” Promax. These are distributed across 54 different SKUs, which are different combinations of models, storage capacities, and colors.
By the way, the number of SKUs available in 2018 was 36. There were only 20 in 2017. And as you have more choices, choosing the right iPhone to upgrade is more difficult than ever. We will help you.
When the iPhone 8 and X went on sale in 2017, we looked at Apple’s device catalog to explore the pros and cons of upgrading to each of the four iPhone 12 models. There is more than one correct answer. It depends on your current iPhone experience and what you want for your next iPhone-a specific feature or new size. We tried to list your options, but in the end, you will decide.
This page describes possible upgrade paths if you are using a 2019 iPhone. The next page describes the 2018 and 2017 iPhones.
Check out the shared upgrade list below before jumping in. All four iPhone 12 models enjoy a set of common advantages over their predecessors.

The Pro has a telephoto camera (LiDAR is also available, but it doesn’t have much of an impact). Therefore, scroll through the gallery and note how often you see the zoomed-in photos. The 52 mm lens is perfect for that, so you can count portrait shots as well. The cost calculation assumes that you are selling an old phone and are considering a SIM-free device with base storage. Apple’s unique trade-in program is a safe bet and minimizes hassle. However, keep in mind that Apple offers the same amount for 64GB and 256GB phones.
So if you have more than base storage, it’s worth the hassle of going through eBay or a similar marketplace. Even with the base model, you’re likely to get more money than Apple offers, so upgrades can be even cheaper at the expense of additional effort.
