The Reels feature will work just like TikTok on Instagram, users can create and edit their own 15-second video in it. Once the video is created it can be uploaded. Users will also have the option to add effects and music before posting their videos online under this feature.
Instagram confirmed via email to Techweu that it was planning to expand the reels to other countries without giving any accurate information.
After TikTok was banned in India, more TicketTalkers have switched to Instagram and YouTube. Because of this, Instagram is now ready to offer a video platform to those users. There is a possibility that the reels feature of Instagram may give a tough competition to Indian Tittock apps, including apps like Chingari, Mitron, and Roposo.
Significantly, last week Facebook announced that it was going to discontinue the Tissock inspired video app Lasso, which was launched in November 2018. Facebook gave this information to users through notifications. The app was available in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and the US and not in India.
