Apple has posted a new support page detailing the various charging and battery-related aspects of the newly launched AirPods Max. The important thing to note here is what happens to your headphones when you’re not using them.

According to the support documentation, if you put the headphones on and let them rest for 5 minutes, they will go into low power mode to save battery. After 72 hours, you’ll be in even lower power mode, turning off Bluetooth and the “find” service that you can search on your phone.
If you choose to use the included “case,” your AirPods Max will instantly go into low-power mode. After 18 hours in the “case”, the headphones will be in ultra-low power mode with Bluetooth and Find My features turned off.
