Apple Music subscribers can link their accounts to assistant-enabled devices through the Google Home app on their mobile phones. Once that’s done, you can use your voice to play your favorite tracks from Apple’s 70 million track library. This includes playlists and favorite songs that may be associated with your Apple Music account.
Last year, we first reported on Apple Music support on Google Assistant-enabled devices that suddenly appeared in the Google Home app. It was later discovered that this was just a “bug” and then this feature was removed. To this day, 22 months later, it has resurfaced in its official form.
Apple Music is rolling out to Nest and other assistant devices today in the US, UK, France, Germany, and Japan. There is still no information on when this feature will be available in other regions.
