The Google Photos app is not only a photo management app but also a photo editing app with some great editing features. One of them is color pop. You can use it to keep your subject in color and have a black and white background. It’s free to use for photos with depth information (such as portrait mode), but you’ll need to purchase a Google One subscription to use it with photos without depth information.
Purchasing a Google One subscription unlocks the editing features of Google Photos
It’s unclear what editing features Google will put behind paywalls in the future, but Google Photos’ v5.18 decomposition XDA-Developer It suggests that the app may soon get new processing options called Dynamic, HDR, and Vivid.
In addition, the publication also found strings for six new sky filters (afterglow, airy, ember, luminous, radiant, and stormy).
I’m not sure if these new editing features will be available to Google Photos users for free or will be behind a Google One paywall like ColorPop.
