Yesterday, Apple released iOS 14.5 to users around the world along with iPad OS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4. Another new update radar feature for iPhone 12 series users is the ability to use 5G connections in dual SIM mode.
Dual SIM 5G confirmation from Apple
Before the update, when using two SIM cards at the same time, it was limited to 4G LTE regardless of whether it supports 5G or not. Currently, only one line is available for 5G connections and is only used for data according to the official changelog released by Apple.
You can now switch smart data mode to a 4G LTE connection when you’re not using your iPhone to extend battery life.
