As reported by Phone NL, The Samsung Netherlands home page contains an invitation to an event titled “The FirstLook2021”. It will be held on January 6th at 4 pm local time (11:00 am EST) and there are few details about the event. The same invitation can also be found on Samsung’s US home page, which provides more information about what the event refers to.
This January 6th “First Look” event has something to do with Samsung’s CES announcement and doesn’t seem to have anything to do with smartphones. The event “Save Date” was posted on Samsung’s main page and the English version of the invitation says “CES 2021”. This January 6th event is expected to be a teaser for what Samsung plans to announce at this year’s CES. Samsung typically announces consumer products for home and entertainment at CES.
In a previous report, Samsung’s Unpacked event is scheduled to take place in January, and Samsung already has a time frame reserved for this year’s CES keynote. It’s worth noting that Samsung hasn’t announced its flagship smartphone at the CES keynote for many years.
This mysterious January 6th event is a teaser to the future of Samsung’s traditional high-end consumer products such as refrigerators, TVs and other appliances, and seems to have nothing to do with the upcoming Galaxy S21. On the optimistic side, you might be lucky enough to see Samsung’s new Galaxy phone teaser, but you have to wait.
