Xiaomi has announced a successor to the Mi Box 4 Pro called the Mi Box 4 S Pro. It looks like the old one, and the name means a fairly gradual update, but that’s definitely not the case here. In addition to its long feature list, Mi Box 4S Pro gets 8K video decoding. This is probably the most notable addition.

The HDMI standard has been raised to 2.1 to support 8K video playback above 30 fps. It also has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage-the latter is twice as much as the 4Pro. This device is included in MIUI for TV in China, but if it hits the global market, Android TV can be expected to be adopted. However, Xiaomi said it has no plans to release Box 4S Pro internationally.
