According to Korean media reports, Samsung will release the Galaxy S22 series on February 8 and start sales on the 24th. The Exynos 2100 was announced on January 12 last year, and the S21 series arrived two days later, so there is still time to reveal the 2200 chip before the S22 series goes live.

Exynos 2200 launch appears to be delayed

Even so, this last-minute schedule change suggests trouble behind the scenes. Cat is referring to the Exynos 1200, a mid-range chip rumored to launch last year (allegedly in November). It appeared in several benchmarks powering the Galaxy M33 5G and A53 5G, however, neither the chipset nor the phone made an appearance.

And now the 2200 is the second chipset release Samsung has had to delay. Will the Exynos chip be ready in time for the Galaxy S22 launch? A better question is how many units can be produced — a potential chipset shortage will result in limited availability of the new flagship. Still, with about a month to go before the S22 devices have to be shipped to stores, Samsung still has time to address these issues.
