Instagram’s ‘Reels’ feature ready to woo Tiktok creators and users in India! -TechWeu
The Reels feature is integrated into the Instagram app. To make a Reels video on Instagram, the user has to open the camera in the Instagram app, after which you will see the option of Reels at the bottom of the screen, by clicking on it you can make your reels video. Instagram has also given some tools to use this feature so that you can record and edit your 15-second video.
You can also use in-app music tracks to create videos and also custom audio. Apart from this, like TikTok, here you will also get the option of the video speed, with the help of which you can make your video either in slow-mo or in speed. Apart from this, you will also get the option of aligning, so that the creator can create the video by being positioned at the right position in front of the camera. Augmented reality effects have also been given to make the video more fun.
While testing this feature in other countries, Instagram was advised in the feedback from the creators to give the Reels post a different place to explore. After this, the app has created a separate section for reels, in which you can see the reels video of different content creators. Like IGTV Video, a Reels section will be provided in the app profile of the users where all the content of the reels can be viewed.
Instagram says that it is working closely with Popular Content Creators and Public Figures to increase the popularity of Reels content. When this test is rolled out, users will be able to watch videos of these content creators including Ammy Virk (3.3 million fans on TikTok), Gippy Grewal (1.7 million fans), Arjun Kanungo (1.5 million fans), Radhika Bangia (5.4 million fans), RJ Abhinav (1.6 million fans) and Indrani Biswas aka Wonder Munna (630K subscribers on YouTube), etc.
The app is currently in its testing phase, although Instagram reels hope that its platform will give a tough competition to TikTok alternative apps in India such as Spark, Friends, Lounge, Rosopo, etc. Let me tell you, most of the creators had taken to Instagram since the Tiktok ban in India.
As we mentioned, this feature of Instagram is currently being rolled out under the testing phase. There is no clear information regarding when this feature will be officially introduced.
