JioMeet video conferencing app launched by Reliance Jio will compete with Zoom

Reliance Jio has launched the JioMeet service to compete with the video conferencing app Zoom. Mukesh Ambani’s telecom company launched its video conferencing app with a bit of pomp on Thursday night and is now available on Google Play and App Store as a service app. Reliance Jio has released its first new product in the last few months after continuous fundraising and it is getting into the arena against Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other popular video conferencing tools.

JioMeet has the ability to hold direct calls (1:1 calling) as well as meetings with 100 participants. According to Reliance Jio, the app offers enterprise-grade host control. You can sign-up with your phone number or email ID and have your meetings in HD quality. It is free to use and you can have unlimited meetings per day. Apart from this, meetings can also be password protected and it also supports waiting room features like Zoom.

Reliance Jio fundraised continuously from April to June, with the company starting with a deal with Facebook and the social media giant getting a 9.99 percent stake in Jio. JioMeet can not only be used from a browser (Chrome or Firefox only), but it is also available as an app on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. You link toJio’s website I can see

The interface of this platform is very simple, which actually looks like a zoom, but a quick review has shown that it works just like other major video conferencing apps. JioMeet says that the app supports multi-device log-in on five devices and you can easily switch between devices while on a call. It also has a feature called Safe Driving Mode as well as basic features like screen sharing.

Even though the app is now available to the public, Jio has been testing it for a few months and you can see the comment on Google Play to see how it worked with an invite code. But now all you have to do is sign-up for JioMeet and you can use it for free.
