Nvidia today announced the first RTX3060Ti, a family of RTX3060 series graphics cards. Priced at $ 399, the RTX 3060 Ti is the cheapest member of Nvidia’s new 30-series graphics card based on the Ampere architecture and will replace the RTX 2060 Super, which was launched at the same price last year.
The RTX 3060 Ti uses a cutback version of the GA104 GPU used in the $ 499 RTX 3070. This reduces SM units, CUDA cores, RT cores, Tensor cores, texture units, and ROPs. Apart from that, the RTX 3060 Ti also has a lower GPU boost clock rate of 1665MHz compared to the RTX 3070’s 1730MHz.
Similarities are that both GPUs have the same 14Gbps 8GB GDDR6 memory, a 256-bit wide memory interface, and 448GB / sec memory bandwidth. It also has the same basic design as the Founders Edition model, one of which is a dual axial fan with a pass-through design.
According to Nvidia, the RTX 3060 Ti is faster than the RTX 2080 Super and is the second-fastest GeForce GPU in the previous generation lineup, starting at $ 699.
There is only one raw GPU power, but like other graphics cards, Nvidia focuses on the ecosystem that surrounds these GPUs. Real-time ray tracing, a feature Nvidia introduced to the market in the 20 series, is now the second generation with 30 series cards, and the RTX 3060 Ti will be able to play RTX or DirectX ray tracing compatible titles.
To improve performance, the GPU also supports Nvidia’s DLSS or Deep Learning Super Sampling. This is an AI-enhanced supersampling solution that uses machine learning for image reconstruction at high resolution while working at low base resolution. The company is expanding its list of titles that support both technologies, including Cyberpunk 2077:
RTX 3060 Ti users can also take advantage of other GeForce features such as Nvidia Reflex, which reduces system latency, Nvidia Broadcast, a set of features for streamers and users who want to use video calling applications, and GeForce Experience. Record gameplay, and GeForce Now for cloud gaming. Nvidia also has a great NVENC encoder for those who do streaming and video encoding.
RTX 3060 Ti will be available from Nvidia as Founders Edition cards from December 2nd, as stock and factory overclocking cards from OEMs such as ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, and other retailers. It will also be available from. PNY and Zotac. Users in some countries can get a one-year GeForce Now subscription with purchase.
