OnePlus may be working on a cheap Nord for India -Techweu

OnePlus’ ever-expanding Nord lineup may be gearing up to expand yet again, at a price point it hasn’t hit before – under INR 20,000. Of course we’re talking about the Indian market, where Nords used to be quite popular between 20,000 to 30,000 rupees. However, so far, no OnePlus device has been priced below INR 20,000, despite this being the most popular price point in the country.

Well, that could change later this year, according to a new rumor from a generally reliable tipster. OnePlus is said to be considering a Nord phone that will retail under Rs 20,000 in the subcontinent. The company will apparently decide whether to proceed “by the middle of the second quarter,” which can be translated as “through May.”

If OnePlus decides to bring the phone to India, it will be available after the Nord 3 launch. Unfortunately, that means sometime after July, not earlier. If successful, it means OnePlus plans to launch at least three Nords in India this year – the Nord 2 CE is expected to debut in February.

According to reports, the cheapest Nord will feature a 90 Hz AMOLED display, a 50 MP main rear camera, and a MediaTek 5G chipset. No other specs are currently available.
