How to book train tickets on IRCTC website
IRCTC Website To book tickets through, first you need to have an IRCTC account. For this, open irctc.co.in and click on the Register button, which will be given at the top of the webpage. Once the page is open, fill in your details here, such as username, password, security question and answer, and eligible language. Write your name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, email id, home address, office address, etc. Click on the Register button to agree on the terms and conditions.
People who already have an account or who have just created an account, have to click on the red Login button. Here you have to sign in by entering captcha code with your email id and password.
After logging in, go to the Book your ticket box and type in your destination. Now select the travel date and coach class. However, while booking tickets, keep in mind that currently only 15 trains will run from Delhi and will go to the 15 places mentioned above.
Now the list will appear in front of you. Railway Ministry has said that only AC coaches will be available on the train. Now click on Check availability and you will also see the availability of the train. If seats are available, click Book Now to proceed with the process of booking your tickets.
Now a new web page will be visible, in which you will have to fill the information related to the traveler like name, age, gender and date of birth, etc. Here IRCTC also gives you other options, such as book only when confirmed berths are allotted, auto-upgrade, motivator coach, etc. Here you will also have the option of travel insurance. Now come down by scrolling and code your mobile number and captcha and click on Continue.
Now you will be able to review your booking, which will include name, train, berth and other information. Then click on Continue Booking.
Now a new page will come, where you will get the option to pay for the ticket. Here you can choose your preferred medium, such as credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI, and others. On the right side of the screen, you will see your ticket fare. After payment, you will see information related to your ticket, which includes the name of the train, coach number, and berth number, etc. You can download the ticket, the option of which you will get there. Apart from this, the information about this ticket will also be given to your registered mobile number.
How to book train tickets on IRCTC mobile app
Booking tickets through a mobile app is also very easy, for which you have to click on the Login button like a website. Here you have to sign in by entering captcha code with your email id and password. If you do not have an account, you can also create a new account by clicking on the Register button, in which all the information has to be filled up.
After logging in, click on Plan my journey and then enter the name of the station, destination, and date and search train. You can choose your coach type by tapping on the name of the train. After this, you will see the available list of the train on the chosen date. If seats are available, proceed to the ticket booking process. On the next page, you will have to fill the passenger’s name, mobile number, and other information.
Finally, you will get the option to pay, in which you can choose your preferred medium. After this enter the captcha code and complete the payment. Now you will get all your ticket related information.
